A thank you letter from me to you...
When I started donating to the Charity, it felt like the right thing to do. I knew how much of a struggle it can be to make ends meet. I just never thought I would be the one reaching out for help.
I was recently told that my boiler was unsafe to use and that I urgently needed a new one. I soon realised I wouldn't be able to cover the costs and was beside myself with worry. That’s when a colleague recommended giving you a call as you had actually helped him through a difficult time a few years ago.
No words can express my peace of mind when you said you could help me pay towards a new one. I know it sounds silly, but I keep looking at the new tank and feel relief come over me. I no longer have the worry about taking out new loans to repay another loan. The whole experience with you has been absolutely fantastic. Whoever I spoke to on the phone was caring, sympathetic and didn’t make me feel embarrassed about my situation.
Like so many civil servants, I’ve been working throughout the pandemic, visiting offices and trying to do my part. We have all been working hard to keep the country going and it’s so comforting to know that you’re here, looking out for us. You realised my position, showed me support and above all, you showed me loyalty. This Charity is something every serving and former civil servant should donate to... and I intend to keep giving back. It’s the least I can do after what you’ve done for me.
