Showing resilience

Anxiety

Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress. For some people, it can have a debilitating effect on their lives.

What is anxiety?

Anxiety is that feeling of fear or worry when we’re unsure of the outcomes relating to any situation. These feelings are unsettling and frustrating but perfectly normal and something we all feel.

However, for some people, anxiety can have a debilitating effect on their lives.

Living in this state of fear is distressing and unhealthy.

Things you can do

If you struggle with anxiety, the following actions can help you to manage your condition.

Look after yourself. Make sure you get enough sleep, eat a balanced diet and find time to do some exercise. These actions can all help you to feel healthier and stronger.

Find what distraction techniques work for you. This might be something creative, a sport or spending time with your family. Or listening to music, spending time in nature, socialising or practising mindfulness.
