#WalkToWellbeing

Walking releases endorphins which improve mood and release stress and anxiety.

The Mental Health Foundation says there are many reasons why physical activity is good for your body - having a healthy heart and improving your joints and bones are just two, but did you know that physical activity is also beneficial to your mental health and wellbeing?

We're firmly behind the concept of exercising for better mental health and our annual Walking Challenge is now an established event in our wellbeing campaign.

Every year thousands of civil servants accept our challenge to walk 10,000 steps a day for 50 days and many people report that lower stress levels are one of the most significant outcomes of taking part.

"Continued to experience the benefits I already experienced before the challenge as a result of integrating physical exercise into my life - feeling less stressed and more healthy." 2019 Walking Challenge Participant

The Challenge has been postponed for this year but watch this space for updates and more information.
