Caring and financial support

Caring for someone can often come with a cost. As well as the emotional involvement of the job, caring also incur financial costs. You may not necessarily associate your acts of support as a caring role but may be impacting other finances. It’s these costs that The Charity for Civil Servants may be able to help with.

For example, if you’re taking someone to the hospital several times a week and the cost of that travel is impacting your budget so much that you’re cutting down on other needs, the Charity may be able to help.

Or if you’ve had to take some Special or Unpaid Leave, or reduce your hours at work, because of your caring responsibility and you’re now struggling to pay a utility bill, for example, we may be able to help.

If you are a carer who would benefit from technology to support you in your caring role, we may be able to provide some financial support towards this. Also if you have needs identified through a carers' or care needs assessment that the local authority is unable to meet we may also be able to assist financially with these depending on your individual circumstances.

If you’d like more information about the financial assistance we may be able to provide you as a Carer, please do get in touch.
