For those who are still in employment, being able to manage a progressive condition such as dementia will require support from your employer and third parties such as the disability employment advisor at your local Jobcentre Plus.
There is a wide range of assistive technology that can be set in place to enable you to continue to do your job for as long as possible.
The Equality Act requires employers to make reasonable adjustments for people with disabilities and dementia is included in this. Your employer will need to work with you to consider what adjustments can be made in order to support you as an employee.
Specialist advice and support is available through Jobcentre Plus and from the .Gov website - Access to Work (excluding Northern Ireland).
