Mindfulness is a practice that can help you manage your wellbeing and mental health. There is evidence to support the practice of Mindfulness in reducing the symptoms and impact of stress. The Charity have a range of resources to help you consider and practice mindful techniques.

Self-study mindfulness courses

The Charity for Civil Servants can offer you access to a range of self-study courses and introductions to mindfulness, provided by Breathworks. Our partnership provides you with fully funded access to:

  • The Breathworks Community of Practice platform – please follow the instructions below to log in. You’ll then be able to explore the community space, join in fortnightly live online practice sessions, and chat to other community members.
  • A Taste of Mindfulness – this is a short, self-led introductory course, exploring what mindfulness is and offering you some short taster practices to try. It’s a great place to start your journey with mindfulness. Once registered, you will need the following enrolment key: CivilService1*.

  • One Month of Mindfulness – this course explores mindfulness in a little more depth and offers more variety of practices, to support you in developing equilibrium and inner strength, no matter what is going on in your life or at work! The course is divided into four ‘weeks’ so you could take it one week at a time.

Getting started on the Breathworks Community of Practice platform

The instructions for you to access your courses and resources are below. Once you've logged in you will continue to have access until 31 July 2021. This is provided for your personal use only, so please do not share this licence or links to online course resources with others.

Register for the Breathworks Community of Practice platform.

  • Click on the blue Access button.
  • Create an account: add your first name and last name and click next in the top right hand corner. Then add your email address and password and click create account in the to right hand corner.

Once registered, you'll have access to the fortnightly live practice sessions (see events), monthly videos and lots more. You can also access the following courses:

Mindful activities

We’re pleased to be working with ‘Mind…Your Own Business’ who are a group of civil servants that are passionate about improving wellbeing and supporting the Civil Services’ vision in making it a great place to work.

Mind...Your Own Business aims to do this by promoting the different ways that you can practice mindfulness using everyday activities. They’ve created a series of easy to use downloads called ‘Mind Bites’ on how you can practice mindfulness using cooking, workouts, eating and hobbies.
