Keep on moving

You'll be surprised how much exercise can be done just using body weight. Forget the gym and fancy machines - all you need is determination and your own home to keep fit.

Below you'll find a few ideas to help you build strength, burn calories and increase your stamina. Why not try to make this movement part of your morning routine? It will give you a burst of happy hormones before you start your day:

  • Stretch your muscles (before you do anything else)
  • Walk on the spot for five minutes (lifting your knees as high as you can with each step)
  • Jog on the spot for five minutes
  • Do ten star jumps
  • Try ten squats
  • Walk on the spot for five minutes again to cool down

It’s important not to overdo it and, if itsis a bit too strenuous, then try a few tasks. Every single step helps the mind and body so the key thing is to give it a go.

Still struggling to feel inspired? Try a routine with friends and family on a video call, or set up workout competitions i.e. whoever does the fewest star jumps must dress up in a silly costume on the next workout video call!
