Do your own thing

Want to fundraise for us but need some inspiration? We’ve got your back!

Community

However you choose to fundraise, you’ll be making good things happen for civil servants who are struggling. With your support, we help people thrive through big life events and small daily stresses.

Our mission is to support civil servants. Your fundraising will help to make a life-changing difference to someone when they need it most.

Fundraising is a fun and rewarding experience. It’s a great way to bring colleagues, friends and family together to achieve something positive.

We’ll be right with you, supporting you every step of the way. Well unless you are skydiving, then we’ll be watching from afar with two feet firmly on the ground!

We’re always here if you have a question or want to talk about any aspect of your fundraising.

Get fit, get active

Take on a fitness challenge! Maybe a long-distance walk you’ve dreamt about? Or you need an excuse to do your daily 10,000 steps in fancy dress?

Organise a bake sale

Who doesn’t like cake in the office? Find your Star Baker! Or set your colleagues a challenge on a theme. Find out who can bake the best Battenberg!

Give something up

Test your will power! Can you go dry for a month or go without your phone? Maybe a sponsored silence or a team swear jar would raise some money?

Skydiving
Push your limits

If danger is your middle name, perhaps a skydive or a zipline is more your thing? Maybe you’ve always wanted to bungee jump or swim the channel?

Get started

Here’s your step-by-step action plan. Six steps to fundraising success!

1 – Find your idea

Decide what you want to do, and when you want to do it. Think about what you enjoy. Do you like to bake or walk? Do you want to challenge yourself physically or test your willpower? Do you want to fundraise on your own or get other people involved?

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you have fun. Keep it safe and legal too. There’s more about this in our fundraising toolkit.

2 – Set your fundraising target

Don’t be afraid to aim high but don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Every penny raised really does count.

3 – Create your fundraising page

Set up your own personal fundraising page (instructions in FAQs below).

You can personalise your page by adding photos and news to keep your supporters updated. All donations you raise on your fundraising page will come directly to us! Easy!

4 – Plan, plan plan

What might you need to make your fundraiser a success? Do you need a venue or permission from anyone? How will you spread the word? Do you need equipment or branded items? Who else might be able to support you?

5 – Make some noise!

Shout about your activity from the rooftops! Get your fundraiser out there! Let your manager know, your colleagues, friends and family. Social media and your workplace internal comms team will become your best friend. The more people that know about what you are doing and why, the more money you’ll raise.

6 (Afterwards) – celebrate and thank everyone

You did it! And we think you are amazing. Thank everyone who supported you – it really does make people feel great (and more likely to help again if you decide to do it again!)

Paying in money

If you’ve raised money on your online fundraising page, that will come directly to us.

If you’ve raised money offline, you’ll need to pay in your donation.

Go to our donate page to do it online. You can use a credit or debit card. Please select ‘single donation’ at the top and tick ‘I am paying in money I have fundraised’ following instructions to complete the payment.

Or if you’d prefer to make a donation by post, send cheques made payable to ‘Charity for Civil Servants’ to:

The impact you’ll make

As a civil servant you know you’re part of something much bigger. A community of people who care about each other, support each other when times get tough. From emotional support to cover for funeral costs, to signposting to legal advice, your fundraising means civil servants never need to face life’s challenges alone.
