Joshua’s “never-ending commitment to openness and inclusion” has instigated real cultural change across The Charity Commission. With great bravery, he has shared his story over several personal blogs, not only detailing past homophobic and physical abuse but also of his PTSD after being on-site for the Shoreham air crash. As a result of this honesty, many others have followed in his footsteps to do the same including those at senior Civil Service level. He has worked hard to raise the profile of LGBT in the department; leading the first ever LGBT History month in 2019 and championing the use of ‘rainbow lanyards’.
