Losing her hearing following childbirth almost 30 years ago, Jill's life was drastically impacted both personally and professionally. During training for a recent promotion in DWP, Jill quickly spotted a gap when it came to dealing with cases for those with hearing difficulties. She realised that case managers needed more awareness when dealing with these cases. She created and implemented sessions to help with this. Starting with her own team, it has now further to the full command and into other local offices. To extend even further, she writes a blog and regulars connects and shares information with the Civil Service Deaf & Hard of Hearing and Diversity & Inclusion Networks.
