As a carer himself, Andy has a “burning desire to ensure that carer’s work-life balance and wellbeing are maintained and are supported”. He set up a local branch of the HMRC Carer’s Network, which he runs single-handedly but also supports presentations from the Carer’s Networks, where he speaks about his experiences. He has worked to form a successful local partnership with Northamptonshire Carer’s Trust and runs various events on their behalf in the office. Most impressively, he submitted a successful application to the Trust to achieve a Level 3 (exemplary) accreditation for his workplace – the only government department to receive this.
