Leave a gift in your Will

Be the umbrella that protects civil servants in the future when unexpected events happen.

Your gift is future protection for civil servants

Like the weather, life can be unpredictable. Sometimes rainclouds appear unexpectedly bringing money worries, new caring responsibilities, mental health problems or the loss of a loved one.

Since 1886 we’ve been there for civil servants, no matter what challenges they’re up against. The support we give has changed as we’re responded to what our community needed. Today, our helpline, financial support and wellbeing services are a lifeline for many. We’ll continue to adapt in order to support future generations of civil servants and their dependents.

When it comes to making your Will, we understand that those closest to you come first. If you do choose to remember us in your Will, no matter the size of your gift, you will be part of our umbrella of support for civil servants.

Why a gift in your Will matters

Last year alone we helped civil servants almost 73,000 times. From financial support for bills to funeral costs or help for carers, a gift in your Will means civil servants never need to face life’s challenges alone.

My mother Patricia received financial and emotional support from you over 50 years ago at the time of my father’s death.

I found letters indicating how grateful she was for the support you showed her as a young, widowed mother. I’m sure she chose to leave her legacy to you as she thought you put the welfare of your community at the heart of everything you do.”

How to write or change your Will

If you already have a solicitor, they will need the following information to include a gift to us in your Will.

  • The Civil Service Benevolent Fund
  • 5 Anne Boleyn’s Walk, Cheam, Sutton, SM3 8DY
  • Charity number: England and Wales 1136870, Scotland SC041956

Most people either choose to leave a small percentage. This adapts to inflation and reduces the need to alter the value of your gift, should your financial situation change.

If you don’t have a solicitor, ask a relative or friend to recommend one.
